Do You Remember Mary?

Odds are you had Professor Mary Mindess for a teacher, an adviser, listened to her at the New England kindergarten conference or met her at another professional development program.  She inspired, energized and engaged you, and now you can say thank you in a special way.

For 50 years Mary has opened the minds and touched the lives of generations of Lesley students.  One of her students, Carol Creelman Moriarty LC’74, now a Lesley Trustee, is paying a special tribute to Mary by asking alumni and friends to make a gift to Lesley in her honor.  Carol will match every new and increased gift to our Annual Fund made in Mary’s honor!!

Your gift, no matter what size, will honor Mary’s contributions to her students and the field of education and contribute to her legacy at Lesley for the benefit of this and future generations.  Carol and her husband John are matching every new and increased gift, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.  Join them today by donating online, by calling 617.349.8388, or by sending your check to Lesley University Advancement Office, c/o Randy Stabile-Mindess Challenge, 29 Everett St., Cambridge, MA, 02138.

Mary remains a driving force in the field of kindergarten education.  Her long experience and youthful excitement about new technology and innovations make Mary one of the most sought after professors on campus.  A lively panel discussion, “100 Years of Kindergarten:  The Potential for Long-Term Investment,” preceded the Tribute to Professor Mary Mindess at Lesley on October 28th and demonstrated that Mary is remains a force to be reckoned with as an expert in the field.

During the tribute Lesley administrators and faculty alike hailed Mary as an inspirational colleague.  Faculty paid loving tribute to Mary, including a fun-filled musical performance and sing along.

Carol Moriarty knows first hand the extraordinary impact Mary makes on her students, commenting that “as my adviser, Mary just made a huge difference in my experience at Lesley. My husband John and I know that many students, colleagues and friends want to honor Mary, and we are providing a special incentive for them to give a gift that will be matched to Lesley in Mary’s name to honor her outstanding career.”

Your gift to the Annual Fund in Mary’s name will provide direct support for the education of future teachers and Lesley’s mission of service.  Join us!
