Augusten Burroughs, author of Running With Scissors, is the keynote speaker for Lesley University’s second annual Literary Arts Festival. A prolific author, Burroughs has written multiple novels and memoirs, two of which have been made into feature films. He has also been a frequent magazine contributor and regular commentator on NPR’s “Morning Edition.” His new book This Is How will be released May 8, 2012. The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and the Consulate General of France in Boston are announcing a gallery exhibition and artist panel discussion featuring world-renowned Magnum photographers.

The exhibition, 101 Photos for Freedom of the Press: Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Reporters Sans Frontières is a collection of works by over sixty Magnum photographers to support the worldwide initiatives by Reporters Without Borders in defense of freedom of the press.
In addition, Lesley is holding its spring Strauch-Mosse Visiting Artist Panel Discussion with famed Magnum photographers Antoine D’Agata, Thomas Dworzak, and Susan Meiselas. The discussion will be moderated by Alex Kershaw, author of The Life and Times of Robert Capa, a biography of one of the 20th century’s most famous photojournalists and a founder of Magnum. …
